One of the fifteen Hermetic Arts, Ignem is the form concerning fire, heat, and light. Fire is the most lifelike of the four elements: it moves, it devours, and it grows. Just like a living thing, it can be killed by the other three elements: smothered by earth, quenched by water, or blown apart by wind. Because fire is halfway between inert matter and living being, it shares the advantages of both.

Of the Founders, Flambeau was the undisputed master of this form. A number of members of his house carry on his legacy both by demonstrating a natural talent for the form and for training and studying it intensely.
